It was a bloody session indeed. seriously. a B-L-O-O-D-Y session.

Lessons started of with injection of water through the various parts of the mice. The three injections consisted of subcutaneous injection(SC) intraperitoneal (IP), intravenous (IV). The injection wasnt hard, but when you hear the mice squeaking, you can sense the pain they were going through.

Next was blood collection. There were 2 ways to collect blood,the orbital route and another was through the heart. Before starting teh blood collection process the mice were given anesthesia.

The eye was a bit tough. You have to actually use the fine capillary tube to poke through under the mice eyes and twist and dig through until you see the tube starts to fill up with blood. That is when the indication that the blooad vessel had been successfully poke through. And the freaky part is that the eyes of the mice would actually pop out.

And to make it worst, i murdered my mice. x____x". Even before my partner get to try it. Still able to collect the blood but it was much harder since the heart wasnt pumping the blood already.

I still cant believe i murdered my mice. Sorry mice for the trauma that you had to went through. My friend felt so guilty doing the blood collection that she even teared during the process.

Next was the blood collection from the heart. It wasnt as difficult as the eyes, but since the heart stop pumping (thanks to me!) it makes it harder as we have to aspirate each time.

This time we had to dealt with rats. Rats were like so many times bigger la!! But suprisingly, they were much more easier to handle. Haha i didnt end up with injuries but instead 1 small poop dropped inside my labcoat pocket. But it wasnt as bad as my friend, who got PEE-ED by the rats while handling!! WAHAHAHAHAHA! and yes compared to the mice, the rats POOP is way bigger and the urine is so much more!!! The urine came out like WEEEEEEEE!!! This session was just to learn restaining, injection and labelling. The labelling was a bit painful though. Depending on the number, you have to cut or punch it on the ear. but Thank god, there wasnt any blood collection again. PHEW!!!

Hahha!! Mei Qi's new rat actually got a nose bleed la!! i wonder wat dirty thoughts was going through its mind. (nose bleed= dirty thoughts! :p) And the rat end up with Horny Banana as a Name! lol! wat a dirty perverted rat!!!

I cant wait for the next lab!!! Which is in the next 4 weeks....-___-"

Im $60 poorer now. BOO HOO HOO!! I went on a spree last sunday!! I went book spree-ing! Lol! I was tempted to spend more actually, but i force myself not too.. ah the agony... I bought Jodi Picoult books (My sister's keeper, Second glance, Perfect match & Tenth circle), Melissa Nathan (Persuading annie) and Sophie Kinsella (Can you keep a secret). Hhaha! and thanks to kak nani, she bought for me Cecelia Ahern If you could see me now and A place call here. WAAHH! Im so loving it!!

The mph book sale this time around wasnt so impressive. i couldnt find any good interesting $5 books!! the $5 books are those haprak, boring kind of novel. BLEARGH! But still im having with the books i bought! Though the amount spent was like way over the top! Obsession is BAD!!!

Anyway, putting that aside, yesterdae was Kak Nani's 24th bdae! And she treated my cuzziez (her sisters), my bro and me to seoul garden! How weird, usually its the opposite. Aniway, we bought a cake as a birthday treat for her! Hope you had a great day ay kak nani!

The term test week is starting next monday and im so not prepared la!!! SCREWED MAN!!!

Well till next fridae, its mug mug mug all the way!!! and the day that i have been waiting for, THE HOLIDAES!!! yayness!!!
